I had the privilege of meeting great mentors in my life. They went beyond the requirement of academics and helped me grow ethically, socially, and spiritually. Inspired by their compassion, I decided to become a teacher. Not just "a" teacher, but a passionate and caring one. One who bases his assessment of a student not on his grade, but on his potentials. To find out more, check out my profile. What
I love teaching. I had many opportunities to tutor a wide variety of students. In Canada, I volunteered as a homework club teacher to teach the elementary students. Also, I took peer tutoring as one of my subject, in which I tutored my peers, usually math and science. In YISS, I am part of the Teens Helping Teens club and is currently working to be qualified as a counselor.
When
I started pursuing teaching since Grade 9. I participated as a tutor in Peer Tutoring and Homework Club. I started participating in a program called Ecomentors in Grade 10, and I began to participate as a teacher in environment workshops for the elementary students.
Where
I was born in Seoul, South Korea. I used to live in Canada, and now I am back in Korea. I want to attend the university in America. When I am finished, I want to work as a teacher, a doctor, and a missionary in Romania.
How
I prepared my career in teaching by participating in tutoring programs. I participated in programs such as homework club, peer tutoring, ecomentors, and teens helping teens (see details above).
